I was able to get it running smooth on my steam deck at low settings, you have to do some tweaking to the deck though, well worth it for any game really. I recommend CryoUtilities, it helps you change the swapfile size, set the swappiness to 1 (highly recommend this, it's 40 by default preventing the deck using 40% of the Vram and using a swap file on the gard drive instead.) As well as this it will move shaders to the SD card the game is stored on!

Although FSR 3 is beautiful, it does not offer as high quality images as DLSS. Some areas become blurry. Do you notice this while playing or does Image Sharpening fix it ?

Does anyone else get insanely high CPU temps while playing this game? I have a similar rig to this one (but with a R9 7900X), and Gears 5 is the only game that makes the CPU go above 85 Celsius (usually it sits at 70-75 if the game is really demanding). Besides, playing at 4K should strain the GPU much more than the CPU. Can't make sense of this.

I have 3700x and rtx 4090 it doesn't go above 90 fps at 4k and gpu usage stays 50-70%.

Can I ask how you got those Fps? I have a 3090 and running at 4k. It gets me 50fps max.

Mm, I would just put it a 4K if it doesn't reach 60 FPS, I wouldn't care about 120 FPS on a game like this, maybe I would care if it were RE4R

i sold my rx6900xt for 500 and got a second hand rtx 4080 tuf oc for 800, with the box and everything the card was like new, i liquid metal cooled it coz i like doing that, and im running 2880 at 1025mv and +1600 mem, at the exact same settings as you at 4k i get btw 40-50fps. I have tried an OC of 3030mhz and +1900mem but at 360W it aint worth it for extra 6fps that i was seeing

I don’t get how some people say this game doesn’t look good or hold up to modern games. Game is jaw dropping and has such a unique visual makeup.

Appreciate the vid. Especially because it’s clearly a game you love and you’re actually showing your first moments walking into it. It adds more impact. Most people would have started it offline and just showed a section they had already played later. Especially since this isn’t a walkthrough or Let’s Play. DLC has been phenomenal so far though. Have fun with it man.

They will need to add further patches. I'm nearly at the midway point of the DLC and certain areas make the FPS tank to the low 40s regardless of graphics setting.

Totally broken frame rate on 4090 with i7 13700k unless you disable ray tracing. Drops to 30s in lots of different part of the map.

It beggars belief that they still haven’t added a shader compilation process before starting the game. On lower end systems the frame stutters are a lot more noticeable.

I don't know how you upload your videos but your videos are the only ones that looks consistently sharp when I'm playing them on an android phone which outputs the video via USB-C to HDMI to a PC monitor.
